T-Tubes™ June 2008: Manfacture of T-TUBES is suspended until a new source of the seven and nine pin plugs is acquired. If you are a collector of Collins radio equipment only because "real radio's glow in the dark" do not bother reading further. If you are seeking a means to provide longer life, cooler operation and similar performance, T-TUBES are the answer. T-TUBES can be used individually or with any combination of vacuum tubes. When a full set of T-TUBES are installed in a Collins receiver, it becomes an "instant on " radio. When used in an S line transmitter warm up time is limited only by the vacuum tubes in the RF cage. Heat reduction can only be described as significant. Filament power in the receiver is reduced by nearly 33 watts when full sets of T-TUBES are installed. Filament power in the S line transmitter is reduced by nearly 18 watts when a full set is installed. With a full set of T-TUBES installed in the receiver the only glow in the dark will be the pilot lamps! T-Tubes in a Collins 75S-3C
